Three people who went out drinking Wednesday night ended up at a Martin City residence. During an ensuing altercation - investigators are unsure about what caused it - one man was asked to leave. As he was going, a shot was fired. Thinking he was hit in the hand, the 55-year-old man called Flathead County sheriff's deputies from a Hungry Horse convenience store. Turns out he hadn't been shot, but may have put his hand through a window. He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The person who allegedly fired the gun apparently only had one bullet. No arrests have been made.

A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff's Office early Tuesday morning to complain that items had been stolen from her purse while she was at a party in Evergreen. When deputies called back minutes later, the woman had passed out. An ambulance was dispatched, but she did not need medical treatment. Deputies decided to wait until the woman was sober to take her statement.
