A gaggle of teens in need of a chill pill were apparently blazing marijuana around a 9-year-old child near the front entrance of a building and threatening to kill people. A caller told the Kalispell Police Department that when they tried to intervene, the group explained that they were from “the hood” and then threatened to beat them up. Officers swung through the area, but were unable to locate the toughs.

After learning of the death of his brother, a Colorado man phoned the police hoping to track down his sibling’s son and ex-wife so that he could notify them. Officers assured him that if they could find the pair, they would let them know.

A woman was banned from a big box retailer for allegedly shoplifting.

Officers headed to a store after an assistant manager reported spotting a woman acting as if she had sticky fingers. The employee suspected she was putting items into her boots. Arriving officers spoke with both the assistant manager and the suspect, determining that there was no crime “just odd behavior.”

A young man’s repeated destruction of construction tape on private property got on the nerves of workers building on the site. They told authorities that the man insists on walking through, rather than around, the tape. They asked for extra patrols in the hope of catching the man in the act.

Several people in a truck were allegedly following a woman around and filming her. She told officers that she was on foot while they circled the block. They apparently told her they were filming her because she was harassing them.

A woman apparently walked out of a store with a car battery without paying. Although employees later retrieved the battery, they sought to pursue charges against the woman.

Officers responded to a report of a man laying down on the sidewalk in front of the county fairgrounds. He turned out to be fine and later headed toward a homeless shelter.

Authorities tried to track down a white SUV reportedly weaving through traffic on U.S. 93 and briefly stopping for a green light.

An employee asked that officers put an end to a group of people in a gray or brown BMW revving their engines at the fuel pumps and speeding through the parking lot. Officers were unable to find the car.

Officers met with another motorist to encourage them to amend their driving behavior.

Spotting a group of about five kids allegedly trying to steal a bicycle, a woman phoned the police looking for help. Officers came across a trio of juveniles on the Parkline Trail, but they denied any involvement in the aborted bike theft and investigators noted that they did not match the woman’s description.

Officers stickered four vehicles left on a street adorned with “temporary police order no parking” signs.
