Ralina “Randy” Houston Degele, 71, passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, 2022, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

Randy grew up in Kalispell and graduated from Red Lodge High in 1968. During high school she spent a year in Venezuela where she met and later smuggled home her favorite pet parrot “Ringo.”

After working at Super 1 Foods (Kalispell) for many years she moved to Columbus, Montana, where she married Sheldon Degele in 2001. While in Columbus, she worked for Matovich IGA until she retired.

She enjoyed crafting of every type, bowling, golfing, and loved to be outside in the sun. She especially loved her visits back to the Flathead Valley.

Randy was sassy, stubborn, and had a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley Houston and Charlotte “Chuck” Homewood; and siblings, Jim Houston, James Houston and Del Homewood.

She is survived by her husband, Sheldon Degele; children, Brad Waggener and Jaylyn Long; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Mariana, Frankie and Emjae; great-grandchildren, Ella, Timothy and Haizlee; siblings, Janet Tyree, Lucky Homewood and Kevin Homewood; and stepchildren, Melinda Kleinhanz and Coby Johnson and their children.

A celebration of life will be held this summer in the Flathead Valley.
