A Flathead County woman is accused of stabbing her father and another man during a New Year’s Eve dispute in Kalispell.

Cody Nicole Kirk, 32, is charged with felony assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment. Her arraignment is set for Jan. 13 in Flathead County District Court.

According to charging documents, Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called Dec. 31 to a report of a stabbing at a camper on Montana 35 in Kalispell.

Kirk’s father told deputies that he had been awoken that night to an argument between Kirk and her husband. The father told Kirk to leave the scene, which she did initially, but she returned a short while later and allegedly came at her father with a folding knife with a 3-inch blade.

The father was stabbed in the arm, leaving an open wound and blood all over the camper, the report states.

Kirk’s husband told deputies that he attempted to intervene and was able to wrestle the knife away from Kirk.

Documents state that another man who had come to the residence after going out with Kirk and her husband that night was also stabbed in the arm when he tried to stop Kirk from entering the residence.

Deputies found Kirk at the scene, and noted that she was unable to coherently recollect the alleged incident. She was taken into custody and transported to the Flathead County Detention Center.

Felony assault with a weapon carries a maximum charge of 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
