Flathead boys, girls take down Knights

The Brave Brawlers pitched a shutout and the Bravettes made it a sweep of Missoula Hellgate Tuesday, in a pair of wrestling duals held at Flathead High School.

The Flathead boys won 77-0 behind five pins and a technical fall, from Diesel Thompson at 120 pounds.

The Bravettes beat the Hellgate girls 48-12, with the teams doubling up on battles at 113 and 120 pounds and holding three matches at 132.

“It was so nice to watch how much our boys and girls have progressed after our two weeks of training over Christmas break,” Flathead coach Jeff Thompson said. “We are really improving and coming together as a team.

“This was a good warm-up for a tough weekend of wrestling ahead of us in Boise and Ronan.”

Both varsity teams head to Boise for the Rollie Lane Invitational Friday and Saturday, while Flathead’s sub-varsity grapplers are heading to the Ronan JV Invitational.
