Hellgate pulls away from Flathead boys in fourth

MISSOULA — Joston Cripe scored 14 points and the Flathead Braves put another scare into Missoula Hellgate before dropping a 65-56 decision to the Knights Thursday.

A month after losing 39-36 to the Knights, the Braves (4-14 overall, 4-10 in the Western AA) led Hellgate 44-43 going into the final quarter.

Asher Topp, Dre Bowie and Easton Sant all hit 3-pointers to spur a 22-point fourth quarter for Hellgate (13-4, 10-3 in league). Connor Dick’s 23 points included an 8-for-9 at the line in the period for the Knights.

Gavin Chouinard and Luca Zoeller each scored 13 for Flathead. Chouinard hit three 3-pointers.
