The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report from a neighborhood busybody who was suspicious of four 12- to 14-year-olds going door-to-door asking people something. One of the youths was holding a garbage bag. Officers made contact with the youths who said they were trying to find chores people might pay them to do. The busybody called officers again to report the group for hanging out in the area after confronting them and suggesting they go elsewhere, which they said they didn’t have to.

A man everyone purportedly calls Tater was outside a bar shirtless and throwing drinks around. He then went through the backdoor and punched a hole in the wall. He was dropped off at his residence. The establishment didn’t want to press charges, but wanted him kicked off the property.

A downstairs resident was allegedly tired of hearing a large dog bark and scratch at its crate, or the floor, for months, despite leaving “polite notes” on the owner’s door. Those notes had spawned replies, also in the form of notes, asking that they stop harassing them and their dog. Officers used the incident for training purposes and talked to the pet owner, who claimed their dog wears a bark collar. They also said they have cameras to check in on the dog, which will only bark if it hears or sees strange dogs and people. Officers advised them about the city’s codes.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report about a man on a bicycle screaming in a “very dramatic” manner, as if he was “losing his mind,” according to a bystander.

A woman allegedly heard a loud bang that sounded like a body being thrown against her door.

A hotel guest was suspicious of a man in a white vehicle who was reportedly screaming and hitting himself in the parking lot. The man was acting out of frustration because his vehicle broke down, but he had a friend coming to help.

A woman reported a burglary when she allegedly came home to find the door open and lights on.

Someone wanted to know why officers kept driving by and shining lights in their windows.

A 1986 green Ford F-150 with a red bumper and a revolver inside was reported as stolen.
