Whitefish, Columbia Falls dominate All-State soccer

Undefeated for four years, four state titles, and now a few more honors for the Whitefish senior boys soccer players. Five members of the 2021 state championship team were this week named All-State for Class A boys soccer.

They are Gabe Menicke, Chase Sabin, Darby McCarthy, Aaron Dicks, and Will Pepmeier.

Menicke led Class A in scoring this year with 25 goals during the regular season, as well as two goals in the championship match.

Second place Columbia Falls had four All-State selections. They were Kai Golan, Dale Blickhan, Nico Lange and Walton Nichols.

All in all, Whitefish had nine team members on either the first or second All-Conference team. Eight members of the Wildcat team were named to either the first or second team.

Whitefish and Columbia Falls also dominated the All-State picks in girls soccer.

Anna Akey, Emma Barron, Isabelle Cooke, Adrienne Healy and Brooke Roberts were all voted All-State for the Bulldogs, who finished first in the Northern A. Whitefish fell in the Class A semifinals to Billings Central.

Columbia Falls, second in the North, lost to eventual state champion Laurel in the first round. Honored for the Wildkats were Maddie Robison, Cheyanne Johnston-Heinz, and Hope McAtee.
