No serious injuries were reported in a structure fire Thursday night that significantly damaged a home in Kalispell.

Kalispell Fire Chief Dave Dedman said crews were dispatched at 10 p.m. to the scene at 927 Third St. W. Fire and smoke was billowing from a window when crews arrived.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze though an exterior attack and interior overhaul.

Dedman said all occupants had evacuated the residence prior to the arrival of firefighters. One resident was treated on scene for minor smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries noted.

Significant fire damage was reported in the front common room of the residence, with extensive heat and smoke damage found in the rest of the interior.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Assistance was received from Kalispell Police Department, Evergreen Fire Department, Smith Valley Fire Department, Flathead Electric Co-op, the 911 center and the American Red Cross.
