Flathead first, Pack third at Flathead Girls Invite

The Flathead Girls Invitational wrestling meet had a local feel to it Saturday, with host Flathead finishing first in the team race and crosstown rival Glacier tying for third.

Hania Halverson (120 pounds), Emma Gambino (145) and Alliyah Stevens (heavyweight) won individual titles for the Bravettes, who scored 254.5 points to win the team title in the Boyle Gym.

Billings Senior was second at 209. Glacier, with Jessalyn Hewitt winning the second 132-pound bracket, tied with Billings Skyview at 147.

Hewitt beat Flathead’s Raimey Hull in her final; other top Wolfpack finishers were Audrey Goodsell, who was third at 170, and Paishance Haller, third at heavyweight.

Gambino led a 1-3-5 finish for Flathead at 145 with Isabella Shirin and Alivia Reinhardt; Glacier’s Madisyn Frazier lost to Gambina in the final.

The Bravettes had plenty of depth points, with Lily Conover taking third in 132B; Lucia Libby third at 205; and Lily McMahon losing in the 132A final. Sage Hafer finished third in the 103-pound bracket as well.
