Glacier National Park will close Apgar Visitor Center and bookstore beginning Saturday, March 21.

According to a news release, the park announced modifications to its winter operations to implement the latest guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and local and state authorities to promote social distancing.

Apgar Visitor Center and bookstore will close until further notice, but the park will continue to provide visitor information through alternative means at the Apgar Visitor Center Plaza.

During the winter months, the park offers minimal visitor services and facilities, but the park remains accessible to the Apgar, Lake McDonald, and St. Mary areas.

Monday through Friday, visitor information is available at park headquarters from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch 12-12:30 p.m.).

Additional information and current conditions are available on the park’s website.

The National Park Service is working with the federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19, or coronavirus, situation.

The Park Service will notify the public when it resumes full operations and provide updates on its website and social media channels.
