The Whitefish City Council will consider awarding the bid for the final phase of the Depot Park improvement project at its meeting this evening at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Whitefish Parks and Recreation Staff is recommending the council award the contract for Phase III of the Depot Park Master Plan to Knife River Construction. Knife River was one of three bidders for the project.

The project includes improvements on some surrounding streets, landscaping work on the northwest end of Depot Park and construction of a shared-use path north of the O’Shaughnessy Center.

The staff report states the project should be completed by July 1, 2020.

The council will also look at a resolution to rename the portion of State Park Road north of the intersection of Lake Park Lane and Patton Lane. That portion will be renamed Patton Lane and become a dead end as part of construction at that location, which is also eliminating two 90-degree curves on Lake Park Lane.

This change is part of the State Park reconstruction project.
