Brink, Lakers AA beat Royals in Billings

BILLINGS — Gage Brink drove in three runs to help the Kalispell Lakers AA defeat the Billings Royals 9-2 in the first of two Legion baseball games on Friday.

AJ Wood pitched seven innings for the Lakers and struck out four Royals batters.

Brink was backed up with runs from Ethan Diede (2), Jack Corriveau, Reid Barrows, Luke Halland and Kael Willis.

Diede went 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Jack Corriveau was 2 for 5.

The Lakers scored nine runs on 11 hits with no errors.

Billings’ bats were equally as hot, also with 11 hits but only two runs to show for it. The Royals also had four errors.

The second game of the doubleheader was still in progress as of press time. The Lakers led 2-1 at the top of the fifth inning with runs from Jack Corriveau and Reid Barrows.
