Veneman,Twins beat Lakers at districts
FLORENCE — Pitchers Zach Veneman and Hayden Meehan combined to pitch a shutout and help the Glacier Twins A beat the Kalispell Lakers A 8-0 at the Western A district tournament on Friday.
Veneman allowed no runs on three hits with nine strikeouts. Meehan induced a groundout from Devon Wallack that finished the game.
The Twins scored six runs in the sixth inning.
For the Lakers, Max Holden pitched five and one-third innings with eight runs on nine hits and two strikeouts.
Stevyn Andrachick led the Twins with two hits on four at-bats.
