A woman fell 80 feet while climbing in the Point of Rocks area near Olney Sunday afternoon.

The woman, who hasn’t been identified, was climbing in the Sunset Boulders area at about 1 p.m. Sunday when she fell, according to Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino.

The Whitefish Fire Department and Two Bear Air Rescue responded to the scene.

Fire Department members helped package the woman to the hoist spot where Two Bear lifted the woman out of the area before transferring her to a Kalispell Regional Medical Center A.L.E.R.T. helicopter for transport to the hospital.

Heino said the woman was climbing with others. Her condition is unknown.

The Sheriff’s Office, Flathead County Search and Rescue and Olney Fire and Ambulance also helped with the rescue.
