WHITEFISH - Polson broke out of a shooting slump to knock of Whitefish (5-5 overall, 0-3 league) 58-38 in a Northwestern A boys basketball contest on Saturday.

Louis Mohr led the Pirates offense with 19 points. Kyle Bagnell and Sheldon Fisher both had 10.

Gage Vasquez was Whitefish's scoring leader with 10 points.

EUREKA - Thompson Falls had to hold off a big rally by Eureka in the final half to claim a District 7B victory.

Eureka (3-8, 3-4) fell behind 30-12 by intermission, but outscored Thompson Falls 37-26 in the second half.

Bryton Guckenberg led the Lions with 21 points. Tanner Blankers added 15.

Eureka was missing Ryan Holder, who injured a knee in Friday's contest at Bigfork.

Garrett Reinschmidt led Thompson Falls with 20 points.

Polson jumped on top 15-5 after the first period and led 38-10 at the half.

Whitefish (0-10, 0-3) was led by Heather Bailey's five points.

MISSOULA - It all fell apart for Columbia Falls in the fourth quarter.

Loyola outscored the Wildkats 16-0 to pull away for a 13-point victory.

Only four players scored for Columbia Falls. Kayla DeWit tossed in a team-high 17 and Jonna Werner finished with 11.

Loyola's Alex Anderson totaled 18 points.
