Artists and performers from Flathead and Glacier high schools will display their talents in a fundraiser for Kalispell Public Schools and Flathead Valley Community College.

The Evening of Fine Arts, which takes place at 6 p.m. on Feb. 3, will feature performances from speech and debate team members, musical numbers, theater excerpts and visual art pieces from Kalispell high school students.

The event takes place in the community room in Flathead Valley Community College’s Arts and Technology Building.

The college’s culinary arts program, under the direction of chef Howard Karp, will provide appetizers and desserts. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $40 each and are available at Bonelli’s Bistro, 38 First Ave. E. in Kalispell; the Hockaday Museum of Art; and at the main offices in Flathead and Glacier high schools.

Individuals or businesses may sponsor the event for $250. Sponsors will be mentioned during the event, placed in the program and, in addition to receiving two tickets to the evening, will be given two etched Riedel wine glasses.

Proceeds will go to the community college’s art department, which will used the money for scholarships for its Italy Abroad Program, and to Kalispell Education Foundation, which provides grants to staff and programs in Kalispell Public Schools.

The foundation may award up to $20,000 in grants for programs and projects that do not have funding in the regular school budget.

The foundation is sponsoring the Evening of Fine Arts.
