Pieces from budding young Bigfork artists will be on display today at the Bigfork Museum of Art and History.

The 2011 Reflections art exhibit, sponsored by the Bigfork PTA, will feature photography, literature and ceramic and visual art pieces by middle school and high school students.

The exhibit will be on display today through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The PTA will host an awards ceremony from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the museum. In addition to the awards, there will be live music and refreshments.

The PTA Reflections Program asks students to create art inspired by a specific theme. This year’s theme is “Together We Can.”

This is the first year Bigfork has participated in the national program. Artists in sixth, seventh, eighth and 11th grades are showing pieces in the exhibit, as are high school students in teacher Sara Taylor’s Art Club.

Professionals have judged students’ pieces in literature, visual arts and photography categories. The top two in each category will move on to the state competition.
