Gordon Conrad Cusick, 71

Gordon Conrad Cusick, 71, passed away Jan. 6, 2011, at Kindred Hospital in Las Vegas.

Gordon was born on May 22, 1939, in Whitefish, weighing only four pounds, to parents Maurice and Josephine Evelyn Cusick.

After graduating from Whitefish High School in 1956, he worked for Great Northern Railroad and spent some time as a logger in the area. In 1964, he entered an apprenticeship with the IBEW Construction Electrical Union and, upon completion in 1968, worked as a journeyman construction electrician until his retirement in 1998. Over the span of his 30 year career, Gordon worked on numerous projects throughout the Northwest, including the Libby Dam, Flathead Tunnel, the Anaconda Aluminum Plant, Minute Man Missile in Great Falls, the W.R. Grace Mill in Libby, Silver Mine in Troy, the Alyeska Pipeline in Alaska, and the World's Fair in Spokane. Residing in Las Vegas, at the time of retirement, Gordon enjoyed the quiet life. He spent his free time playing cribbage and chess with family and friends, and doing work around his home.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Ann Roth; multiple aunts and uncles; wife Florence; and daughter Sharee Mclintoc, He is survived by daughters Jill Namm, Jody Cusick-Finley and Jackie Crosby; grandsons Sean Finley and Michael Namm; granddaughters Andrea Finley, Rachel and Rebecca Namm, and Jordan Radford; and great-grandson Jake Igor Cosmah. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be missed by those he has left behind.

    Funeral Services for Gordon will be held at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish, Montana, on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Bartholomew of the Stillwater Free Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside service will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
