Aaron Murry's performance provided quite a lift for Glacier.

Murry, swimming the final leg in the 200 medley relay, made up a six-yard deficit as the Wolfpack opened the Kalispell High Swim Meet with a heart-pumping victory over Missoula Big Sky/Loyola at The Summit pool on Saturday.

Glacier's winning time - 1:48.90. Big Sky/Loyola was clocked at 1:51.38.

"A great comeback performance from Aaron," Flathead/Glacier coach Brandon Rannebarger said.

"He touched him out. That set the whole tone for the meet."

Glacier rolled from there and finished with a team-high 419-point total. Missoula Hellgate was second, 251, in the five-team field.

"He could have just quit, but he tried to catch him and did," Rannebarger said.

"That shows their (relay team) resolve to get first and swim fast every single time; taking over and putting some good races together."

The foursome of Murry, Jordan Loyda, Josh Loyda and Logan Streit had a sensational afternoon as they also won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Jordan Loyda (50 freestyle) and Streit (100 freestyle) were the two individual winners for the Wolfpack.

"The Glacier boys remain undefeated," Rannebarger said.

"They did a really good job on the relays and their individuals."

Flathead finished fifth in the team standings with 184 points. The Braves were again led by Lars Thorderson, who place first in the 200 individual medley and third in the 100 butterfly.

"That's the second time he's been under a minute," Rannebarger said of Thorderson's 58.81 time in the butterfly.

Missoula Hellgate dominated the action on the girls side, piling up a winning total of 673. Missoula Sentinel, 501, was second, Glacier, 402, third and Flathead, 107, fourth.

MaKenna Siebenaler (50 freestyle) and Maxie Scroggs (500 freestyle) were Glacier's individual winners.

The Flathead girls top placer was Mckenzie Lane, who finished third in the 500 freestyle.

Flathead and Glacier are back in action Jan. 22 at the Missoula Invitational.
