Bette Ann Felsman Larson, 78

| January 9, 2011 2:00 AM

Bette Ann Felsman Larson, 78, passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at her residence in Kalispell.

Bette was born in Kalispell on Jan. 20, 1932, to Ed and Anna Felsman, at their home on Sixth Ave. West. She was always proud of the fact that both of her parents were born and lived in Kalispell their entire lives, and their parents homesteaded west of Kalispell.

Bette attended grade school in Evergreen and graduated with the class of 1950 from Flathead High School. During her high school years she worked as a car-hop at Smitty's Triple XXX Drive-In. She also worked at the Conrad Bank from 1950 to 1955. She retired from the Department of State Lands in 1993.  Her years there introduced her to some very special people.

Bette's childhood was one of the favorite times in her life. She always had a great love of animals and was forever dragging home stray dogs and cats. One of her favorite stories was how she used to ride her horse down the strip in Evergreen.

She married C. Kenneth Larson in 1950, they divorced in 1969, and from that marriage had four children, Garry, Douglas, Wayne and Laura. The children and grandkids were always very special and she was so very proud of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Edward.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Garry and wife, Dawn, of Arkansas, Doug and wife, Jeannie, of Kalispell, Wayne and wife, Vicki, of Louisiana, and Laura Hargrave and Joshua Shulenburger; her grandchildren, Cory, Sara, Jack, Brooke, Kristen, Kayla, Kinsey, Ryan, Megan and Beau; her great-grandchildren, Chance, Jailynn and Noah, (Noah was born on Bette’s birthday last year).

Memorial services for Bette will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Thornton officiating. There will be a reception following the service at Scotty's in the Winchester Room.
