Nigerian scam claims another victim

The Kalispell Police Department investigated a fraud complaint on Farview Drive where a woman said she lost about $15,000 to an Internet scam. An officer determined it was a civil issue, and that the woman had voluntarily loaned the money to a Nigerian citizen.

On Fifth Avenue East, a man received a series of apparently fraudulent phone calls. The first was from a male claiming to be his grandson, though the caller hung up when the man asked for his middle name. Someone later ordered a pizza and had it sent to the man’s house.

An officer helped remove a dog from the roof of a home on Seventh Avenue West North.

No injuries were reported after a head-on collision at the intersection of Fenn Way and Appleway Drive.

A vehicle was returned to a woman on Third Avenue East North after she said her son stole it and had a friend try to hide it from her.

A vehicle was reported stolen on U.S. 2 West.

Police were called after someone left a small, barking dog inside a room at a hotel on First Avenue East.

Someone asked to keep a bicycle found buried in the snow on East Idaho Street.

A group of teenagers were counseled after allegedly driving recklessly through a neighborhood near Buffalo Hill Drive.

A woman on North Meridian Road said a man took her car keys during an argument.

Officers conducted a welfare check on a man seen staggering down Second Street West after a caller said he fell twice.

An escaped llama created a traffic hazard near the intersection of U.S. 93 South and Shefferd Lane.

A man wrapped in a blanket was seen kicking vehicles near West Arizona Street. He later denied kicking the vehicles.

A teenage boy was arrested on Wolfpack Way for an alleged probation violation.

An officer gave an intoxicated man a ride after he was seen slumped over in the roadway on 10th Avenue West.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Tamarack Lane near Columbia Falls after a woman reported that her irate boyfriend was accusing her of stealing his marijuana.

The sheriff’s office received a call from a woman who offered her opinion of a county jail prisoner, saying he steals everything and “is not good for society” and should not be allowed to leave the jail.

A stray dog was picked up by animal control personnel after it crawled into a garage through a dog door on Wagon Wheel Road.

Extra patrols were requested on East Evergreen Drive after several vehicles sped through the area.

On Ledgewood Drive in Bigfork, a woman was accused of threatening her in-laws.

Fraud was alleged on Cooperative Way where a possibly illegitimate travel agency convinced someone to buy plane tickets.

A verbal disturbance was reported on Vonderheide Lane where a man and woman were heard yelling at each other. They were separated.

On U.S. 2 East in Coram, a woman said she was cut off by a vehicle and that the driver flipped her off and followed her to a business. A deputy separated the two.

Someone threw a beer container from a vehicle driving on Grand Drive in Bigfork.

The Montana Highway Patrol responded to collisions on Evergreen Drive, Reserve Drive and Airport Road, but no injuries were reported.

Vehicles slid off the roadway on Tamarack Woods Drive, Conrad Drive and Crow Road.
