COLUMBIA FALLS — Zane Kloeckl scored the game’s only goal at 65 minutes, lifting Stillwater Christian School to a 1-0 nonconference boys soccer victory Saturday over Columbia Falls.

It was the season opener for Columbia Falls.

“We did have a few goal-scoring opportunities,” Columbia Falls coach Peter Browne said.

“I thought we played pretty well defensively. We got tired late in the second half and gave up a goal.

“At times, we moved the ball well,” Browne added.

“It’s something to build on. Some positive things came out of the game.”

Columbia Falls hosts Bigfork on Tuesday, 3 p.m., in a league outing.

Stillwater opened its season Friday night, falling to Sandpoint, Idaho, 6-0 in nonconference play.

Stillwater is back in action Tuesday at Polson, 6 p.m., for a nonleague match.
