Masked man steals flowers

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded after a woman saw a man wearing a ski mask in her flower garden on Berne Road in Columbia Falls. The masked flower forager fled when approached by the owner. He told the woman he was taking the flowers to give to his girlfriend. He was gone when deputies arrived.

An employee was accused of being a thief after merchandise went missing at a business on Rocky Cliff Drive.

A passerby saw three “suspicious” males ripping the roof off a home on Tally Lake Road. Follow-up revealed the men were construction workers hired to remove the roof.

Someone shattered a window with a water balloon on King’s Way.

A four-wheeler was found in bushes on Alpine Court in Whitefish.

An elderly driver on U.S. 93 South was accused of recklessly forcing another man off the road.

Someone driving a loader on Creston Road intimidated another driver. The caller said the heavy equipment operator followed them.

An assault was reported on State Park Road in Whitefish after a parent reported someone had tried running her son and other boys off the road with a pickup truck. The parent later declined to press charges.

An angry couple decided to “work things out” after an argument over a firearm resulted in deputies being called to the disturbance in Hungry Horse.

There was a report of an adult male sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl. The case is under investigation.

Kalispell Police fielded a call following a shameless theft at a business on North Meridian Road during which someone stole a jar of money that was meant for the victim of an accident. The suspect’s vehicle was gone when officers arrived.

Blood-splattered walls were apparently no reason for panic at a home on Greatview Drive. Police determined the blood on the walls, stairs and floor was likely from a pet.

The victim of a theft spotted his stolen property near the intersection of North Main and East Idaho streets. He called police when he saw a tool box that belonged to him in a parked truck. He used a key to access the box when police arrived, and the owner of the truck was cited for theft.

A mother called for help when her son’s father came to her home on Sixth Avenue West and tried to take their son. The mother said the boy had not seen his father in seven years. The family was counseled by police.

Officers assisted a man who said he was having difficulty retrieving his property from a home on Fifth Avenue East.

A man on Third Avenue East was fighting with his three roommates. All four were told to sober up and call police if they wished to pursue charges.

Someone was selling Kleenex door-to-door on Seventh Avenue East. A caller reported the suspicious activity. They were also selling vacuums out of a van.

Officers dispersed a group of children on Greatview Drive after someone reported they were “yelling and screaming.”

A drunk man on a bicycle was seen vomiting and having trouble staying upright near the intersection of First Avenue East and Center Street. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and cited for possession of a knife.

Three large trucks were seen “doing donuts” at the college. The vehicles were gone when police arrived.

Four juveniles were cited for violating curfew after an apparent fight at the intersection of Third Street West and South Main Street.

A vicious-animal complaint was called in after a dog killed a kitten on Tenth Street West. The dog’s owner took the canine to a shelter.

A vacuum was stolen after the owner left it sitting on a curb on 10th Street East.

Girls asked someone on Rosewood Drive for cash donations so they could go to school. The caller thought it was a scam. The girls were gone when police arrived.
