Georgia Lois Strauss, 94

Georgia Lois Strauss, 94, passed away July 26, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Cheryl, in Deer Park, Wash. Georgia was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Bartlett, Ore., to Charles W. Davis and Myrle (Wilson) Davis. She was raised and attended school in Troy, Ore. In 1935, Georgia married Glen Miller in Asoton, Wash. They lived in the Troy area until his death in 1939. Following his death, she moved to Washington. In January 1940, their daughter Glenda was born. Georgia met Herb Strauss in Spokane and they were married in Kalispell on Feb. 9, 1949. In May of 1950 their daughter, Cheryl, was born. Georgia lived in the Flathead Valley until moving to Washington after Herb s death. Georgia was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed growing flowers and sharing beautiful bouquets for the Sunday services. She belonged to the Merry Mixers Home Demonstration Club, Sorosis Club, and the Helena Flats School Mothers Club. Georgia is survived by her daughters, Glenda and Norman Davis of Cascade, and Cheryl and Greg Riehl of Deer Park, Wash.; grandchildren, Beverly and Corey Bjertness, Karen and David Huskamp, Sandy and Jonathan Mollerup, Greg Riehl, and Kris and Wayne Collins; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Lloyd; brother, Erwin Davis; sister-in-law, Lola Booi; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Memorial services for Georgia Strauss will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Calvary Lutheran Church. The family suggests memorial gifts be given to Hospice or Calvary Lutheran Church.
