Greta Mae Reed, 88

Greta Mae Reed, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. She was born on June 27, 1922, in Chinook to John and Ethel M. (Quantrill) Harbottle. Greta spent most of her early years east of the mountains. In 1944 she married Albert Reed in Superior, and they moved to Kalispell in 1945. They operated various businesses over the years, from Pay and Save Grocery on Main Street and Reed s Fruit Stand to Reed s Potato Farm. Greta very much enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, gardening, cooking and crocheting in her spare time. Greta was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years. She is survived by her son, Oren Reed, and wife, Muriel, of Kalispell; two grandsons, Jeremy Reed and wife, Kris, and their daughters, Alyssa Reed and Britny Lewis, and Justin Reed and wife, Heather of Lehi, Utah; two nieces, Marcy Thompson and husband, Ken, and Jody Hays and companion, Mark Lloyd. Graveside services for Greta will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, at Glacier Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday in Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
