Brenda Kay (Rhodes' Roy, 48

"The gates of heaven open today" for Brenda Roy, 48, who passed away Sept. 24, 2009, at her residence in Whitefish. She was born in Kalispell, Aug. 17,1961. She attended Whitefish High School.

After leaving high school, she moved to Calgary, Alberta, and married Robert Roy. In 1995 she moved back to care for her parents.

Brenda's employment included the Comfort Inn, Flathead County, and La Quinta, when she was diagnosed with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Rhodes; two brothers, Bernard and Edward Rhodes; two children - daughter Debbie, and son John Henry.

Survivors include her mother, Laura Rhodes; six brothers, Jake and Julie Rhodes, Hungry Horse; Virgil and Elma Rhodes, Columbia Falls; Wesley and Debbie Rhodes, Coram; Donald and Marie Rhodes, Kalispell; Albert and Theresa Rhodes, Roosevelt, Utah; and Calvin and Brenda Rhodes, Whitefish, two sisters, Anita Rhodes, Whitefish; and Teresa and Richard Wassmer, Whitefish; fiance, Lewis Baumgardner, Whitefish; three daughters, Marie Pacey, Lethbridge, Alberta; Brenda Lee Roy, Kalispell; and Amanda Roy, Columbia Falls; three grandsons, Brandon, Toby and William; and granddaughter, Jaqueline.

There will be a reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Whitefish Moose Lodge. The family will hold a celebration of life for Brenda at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. Family and friends are invited to join us in the celebration. For information, call 890-0122.
