Flathead County Sheriff's deputies received reports of dogs killing chickens in various areas of the county. A dog killed 25 on Deerfoot Trail, earning the owner a citation. Another incident occurred on Kinnickinnick Lane in Columbia Falls, and then a third was in progress but no body count was available Friday afternoon.

Tools were stolen from Autumn Court Friday morning but no value was listed.

A citizen complained that a purse was stolen containing a rent check and prescription medications for her son's seizures.

A driver alerted deputies that another driver in a gray Suburban passed on a double yellow line almost causing an accident on Montana 35 near Creston. The vehicle was not found.

Another case of reckless driving was reported by a person in a silver four-wheel drive with Canadian plates near four corners. The offender cut the reporting driver off, nearly causing an accident.

Deputies put an extra patrol on Mountain Drive in Hungry Horse after a property owner complained that people were breaking windows to get into his vacant house.

A 14-year-old girl was removed from a local school after she was discovered with alcohol in a soft drink.

Some sort of bird problem was reported on Montana 206 resulting in contact with "the bird ladies." No details were available about what sort of birds ran afoul of the law.

Flathead County Sheriff's Department logged 180 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell Police officers investigated the theft of a Fender guitar taken from a business on Third Street West. The value was listed as $700.

A thief grabbed a cash bag from a medical office on Heritage Way containing $1,000 cash and checks. The bag was left unattended on a desk in a crowded office.

A hit and run was reported at Fourth Avenue East and East Washington. A burgundy Toyota truck with two women inside allegedly struck a bike rider, damaging the bike but not the rider.

Officers counseled two drivers who drove quickly through a crosswalk by Peterson School after crossing guards reported the incidents.

A driver was startled around 4 a.m. Friday morning when a man jumped in front of his car on Main Street waving money and asking for a ride. He was wearing a black hat and black coat.

A woman found her two of her tires slashed in her front driveway on Second Avenue East.

A man called police to report he was assaulted at restaurant. He was taken to the emergency room with cuts to his ear. Officers asked him to fill out a report when he was sober.

A 24-year-old man was apprehended and charged with DUI after an alert clerk at a store saw him get in a car and drive away. He was so drunk that he could hardly talk while in the store.

A resident on Fifth Avenue East can only hope for a religious conversion by the person who broke in her car and removed a booklet with mileage documentation, sunflower seeds and a Gideon Bible.

Officers nabbed a 19-year-old on 18th Street West and charged him with minor in possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct and intoxicated pedestrian.

A man and woman were evicted from a residence on 9th Avenue West after neighbors noticed them living in the vacated residence.

A disorderly 54-year-old mom was arrested for DUI and resisting arrest after officers received a complaint of a family disturbance on Three Mile Drive.

Kalispell Police logged 74 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls Police officers responded to a disturbance complaint at a local business. It turned out to be a person on a religious conversion mission who apparently wouldn't take no for an answer.

A 16-year-old was arrested for criminal trespass at Columbia Falls High School.

Columbia Falls Police logged 14 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish Police investigated an assault Thursday on Lakeshore Drive and a disorderly conduct complaint on Meadow Lark Lane. No arrests were made.

Whitefish Police logged 47 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.
