Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found off Fairview Crossroad. Preliminary reports indicate there was no foul play.

A transient knocked on doors in the Martin City area Wednesday evening asking residents for cigarettes and a place to sleep. He was gone when deputies arrived.

Someone discovered a blue suitcase left in a cart at an Evergreen grocery store.

A man standing at the entrance to an Evergreen box store's parking lot and spitting at passing cars was moved along.

Black bears got into an East Lakeshore Drive resident's garbage cans and ate their pumpkins.

A man driving in the Kila area allegedly was followed home by another driver, who reportedly was tailgating and making obscene gestures, and assaulted in his driveway.

Several deputies were dispatched to find a man somewhere in the Kalispell area who called authorities, said "I'm sorry," and then hung up.

Neighbors saw a car parked outside a Foothill Road residence and called deputies because it appeared suspicious. Turns out the car belonged to some hunters who had permission to be there.

When the former tenant of a Montana 209 resident showed up to get the mail, he discovered the landlord had thrown it away.

Kalispell police

A Greatview Drive girl told Kalispell police her father came into her room, called her a name, then raised his fist at her.

Files were taken off a computer at an Airport Road business. A propane patio heater was stolen from a service club on First Street West.

A Rosewood Drive resident reported getting harassing phone calls and text messages. The woman allegedly sending them was told to stop.

Three teens, two boys and a girl, were spotted damaging a fence in Depot Park.

Officers separated two men fighting at an East Idaho Street motel. The women they were with had already split when police arrived.

A woman on the phone with her daughter believes she was struck by her boyfriend while they argued at a motel off U.S. 93 South.

Passersby thought a man on top of a tractor-trailer on West Idaho Street had a guilty look about him.

Officers arrested a woman on suspicion of DUI during a traffic stop at the drive-through of an East Idaho Street restaurant.

A woman at an East Idaho Street motel reported being assaulted in March during a domestic disturbance after discovering her alleged injuries may require surgery.

Officers received 61 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish police received 25 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 22 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

The Badrock Fire Department and Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to U.S. 2 near Coram after a 28-year-old man was struck by a car. He went to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with an injured leg.
