Vehicles targeted by thieves

Kalispell police on Monday got a wave of reports of vehicle break-ins on the west side of town.

From the 100 to 1100 blocks of Seventh Avenue West, three vehicles were broken into, but nothing taken; an iPod was stolen from another car; and a $300 gps unit, $100 binoculars and a $150 knife were taken from another vehicle.

On the 1100 block of Sixth Avenue West, a passenger window was smashed in with nothing taken. A purse with $300 was stolen from a vehicle on the 1300 block of Sixth Avenue West. And a car was broken into with nothing taken on the 1500 block of Sixth Avenue West.

A drill was stolen from a vehicle on Indian Trail.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle on the 40 block of Second Avenue East.

Sunday night, a woman, 19, was arrested for shoplifting at a Third Avenue East North grocery store.

A car was egged and scratched on the 300 block of Fifth Street East.

Officers responding to a disturbance on the 20 block of Fourth Avenue East ended up arresting two people: a man, 18, for possession of drugs with intent to sell and a Columbia Falls contempt warrant; and a woman,19, for possession of drugs and partner-family member assault.

There were 64 log entries from 3:30 p.m. Sunday through 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man, 21, for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after he smashed in the glass door at Snappy's Sports Senter Sunday night.

There was a report of a "squatter" tent being set up on private property just off Whitefish Stage Road and Reserve Drive.

A truck crashed into trees on Swan Hill Drive in Bigfork, but by the time responders arrived, the driver had left the scene on foot.

Early Monday, a rifle was reported stolen from a vehicle parked near an Electric Avenue bar in Bigfork.

A business on Hungry Horse Boulevard in Hungry Horse was reportedly egged and paintballed.

Sheriff's dispatch had 130 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Responding to a report of an intoxicated pedestrian on Central Avenue Sunday night, Whitefish police arrested a man, 24, for disorderly conduct.

The Whitefish Community Center was vandalized with graffiti.

A man, 57, was arrested for driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on Armory Road.

A man, 49, was arrested for driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on Spokane Avenue.

There were 28 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Columbia Falls police and Three Rivers Ambulance responded to a one-vehicle rollover on U.S. 2 near the Pamida store. A man was transported to North Valley Hospital.
