Flathead County sheriff

High winds Saturday afternoon knocked a tree across Foothill Road and downed utility poles or branches on power lines near Columbia Falls, Bigfork, on Swan Lake Road, and on Ferndale Drive. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies and area fire departments responded.

Deputies responded to Electric Avenue in Bigfork after a man allegedly held a woman at knife point during an altercation, but then left.

A man apparently left walking from a fight at a bar on U.S. 2 and Montana 40 with some pretty serious injuries, but deputies were unable to find him and offer him help.

Deputies responded to Martin City after a woman mixed prescription drugs with alcohol during an argument with her husband.

Numerous gunshots were heard by golfers in the Smith Lake area, and some people heard shots going over their heads. Turns out the shooting range wasn't illegal, the golf course was.

A woman on Mountain View Drive yelled at her kids long enough for a neighbor to call deputies.

Deputies were required to meet a passenger train pulling into Whitefish after a man got confrontational with conductors.

Deputies received 148 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Kalispell police

A motorist called Kalispell police to request that they place cameras at the intersection of Main and Second streets to catch the people running red lights.

The teenager reported by a neighbor who thought he was breaking into a Fourth Street West home was actually just visiting his grandparents' house.

The College Avenue man slamming things and banging around his house was gone when officers arrived.

An intoxicated man on Eighth Avenue West reported his car stolen while it was parked on Big Mountain.

Two men got into a fight on Liberty Street. One then allegedly threatened to shoot the other.

A man in the Woodland Park area was counseled after a passerby heard him threaten to shoot three people.

Officers received 68 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police were called to settle an argument between a man and woman on Colorado Avenue, but the man had left.

A 36-year-old man claims he was assaulted at a Spokane Avenue residence, and so returned to pick up his stuff with framing hammer in hand. He and another man were both arrested for assault.

Officers received 49 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police responded to a Nucleus Avenue grocery store after a trucking company called to report that a driver wasn't returning phone calls or the truck. There may have been some simple miscommunication.

Someone allegedly backed into a parked car on 12th Street West and fled the scene.

Officers received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded Friday night to a hotel on Main and Center streets to treat a man with chest pain. He was taken to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Paramedics with the Kalispell Fire Department were paged out to a hotel on U.S. 93 South after a teenager started having seizures.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a non-injury crash on South Main Street to check out an upset man.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to 11th Street West after a series of small explosions in nearby garbage cans.

The ALERT helicopter, Hungry Horse Fire Department, Martin City Fire Department, Canyon Quick Response Unit, and Three Rivers EMS were paged to a track in Hungry Horse after a motorcyclist flipped his bike and hurt his head. He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Smith Valley Fire Department responded Saturday afternoon to a four-vehicle crash on U.S. 2 that left one car on its side. Injured occupants were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Creston Fire Department and Badrock Fire Department extinguished a barn fire Saturday afternoon.
