High winds Saturday afternoon knocked a tree across Foothill Road and downed utility poles or branches on power lines near Columbia Falls, Bigfork, on Swan Lake Road, and on Ferndale Drive. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies and area fire departments responded.

Whitefish police were called to settle an argument between a man and woman on Colorado Avenue, but the man had left.
A 36-year-old man claims he was assaulted at a Spokane Avenue residence, and so returned to pick up his stuff with framing hammer in hand. He and another man were both arrested for assault.

Columbia Falls police
Columbia Falls police responded to a Nucleus Avenue grocery store after a trucking company called to report that a driver wasn't returning phone calls or the truck. There may have been some simple miscommunication.
Someone allegedly backed into a parked car on 12th Street West and fled the scene.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded Friday night to a hotel on Main and Center streets to treat a man with chest pain. He was taken to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
Paramedics with the Kalispell Fire Department were paged out to a hotel on U.S. 93 South after a teenager started having seizures.
