Nelson sets two pool records at Western Divisional swim meet

Karyssa Nelson of Columbia Falls set two pool records and claimed high point honors for 9-10 girls last weekend at the Western Divisional Swimming Meet.
Nelson broke records in the 100 individual medley (1:31.03) and 100 freestyle (1:18.70) at the Columbia Falls City Pool in Pinewood Park.
The Columbia Falls Swim Team finished fifth in the team standings in a field of 11 teams. Of its 29 swimmers competing at divisional, 26 qualified for the state meet in Roundup this weekend.
"The kids keep shaving time," CFST coach Mike Nelson said. "Cumulatively, they reduced their times (at divisional) a total of 232 seconds. As we prepare for state this weekend and begin our taper, who knows how much more they will improve."
