After a man allegedly made a vulgar reference to a woman at a residence on First Avenue North in Hungry Horse, two other men threatened him with a baseball bat and a shotgun Sunday night. One man, 51, was arrested for assault with a weapon and a criminal contempt warrant, and his son, 21, was arrested for assault with a weapon by Flathead County sheriff's deputies. No one was hurt.

A U.S. 2 business in Hungry Horse reported that a man had grabbed a handful of jewelry and left. A Montana Highway Patrol stopped the vehicle, recovered the property and cited the man for shoplifting.

A woman and a female juvenile were cited for shoplifting at a U.S. 2 store in Evergreen.

About $1,000 in auto parts were reported as stolen from a vehicle salvage business on Montana 82 near Somers.

A juvenile male reportedly ran away from a youth treatment center near McGregor Lake.

A South Many Lakes drive resident said that her husband, who had been drinking, would not let her into the house so she left to stay elsewhere.

A man was cited for shoplifting at a U.S. 2 store in Evergreen.

Deputies found a man who had been staggering in the road in the Shady Lane area, giving him a ride home.

There was a report of a cow moose and calf being separated by a fence in the Yeoman Hall area.

A woman, 22, was arrested for disorderly conduct after a disturbance on the 500 block of Solberg Drive.

A group had mechanical problems with a boat on Hungry Horse Reservoir, and had to spend the night on Elk Island. The party was not in danger and were helped off the island Monday morning.

After a report of a disturbance at a First Avenue North residence in Hungry Horse early Monday, a 34-year-old man was arrested for probation violation.

There was a disturbance involving a volatile boy, 16, at a Fifth Street West residence in Hungry Horse.

A boy, 19, was arrested after a disturbance at the Hungry Horse Fire Hall for being in possession of alcohol and for a contempt warrant.

There was a report of two golf carts being driven without lights in the Birch Drive area.

A bicycle rack was causing a hazard in the middle of Helena Flats Road near Rose Crossing.

Deputies were investigating a report of abandoned cats at a home on Mountain View Drive where the tenant had disappeared after recently being evicted.

Kalispell police

In what may have been a daring theft, a man reported to Kalispell police that people in a white Jeep Cherokee stole his blue nosed pit bull, valued at $1,500, from his unlocked vehicle Sunday night.

Officers arrested a boy, 17, for shoplifting from a Third Avenue East North grocery store.

Officers broke up a disturbance involving a man and woman at a home on Kelly Road.

A tree reportedly fell and struck a parked unoccupied vehicle on the 1000 block of Seventh Avenue West.

A girl reported being assaulted by her stepfather at a Hawthorne Drive residence.

A man, 37, was arrested for partner-family member assault after a disturbance on the 300 block of College Avenue.

Early Monday, a man, 24, was arrested for disorderly conduct at a business complex on U.S. 93 South.

A man, 24, was arrested for shoplifting at a Third Avenue East grocery store, and later in the morning, another man was cited for shoplifting at the same store.

There was a report of a man trying to start a fight with "everybody" at an East Idaho restaurant. He had left by the time officers arrived.

Someone deposited 10 real estate signs, several garden gnomes and yard lights - all apparently stolen - in the front yard of a residence on the 800 block of Third Avenue West sometime Sunday night.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested two boys, both 13, for criminal trespass and criminal mischief at City Beach Sunday night.

Monday, a wallet was reportedly stolen at a casino on U.S. 93 South.

Officers are investigating a possible assault that occurred at the Post Office Monday afternoon.

There were 30 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Columbia Falls police had no notable incidents, but did have 37 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.
