A Columbia Falls-area man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly raping a 23-year-old woman.

Adam Joseph Hakze, 28, was held Tuesday in the Flathead County Detention Center on sexual intercourse without consent charges pending an initial appearance in Flathead County Justice Court.

Deputies responded to a Columbia Falls-area home about 6:15 a.m. Monday after the alleged victim called authorities to report the sexual assault. Hakze, who had been hitting on the alleged victim earlier, broke in to her home through a window, prosecutors allege.

Hakze and the alleged victim knew each other, according to Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan.

Hakze was taken into custody a couple of houses down from where the rape allegedly occurred. Alcohol was involved, Meehan said.

If convicted, Hakze - who has yet to be arraigned - could face up to 100 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
