The Flathead County Planning Board meets for the first time this year on Wednesday to handle a couple of zone-change requests, and will hold a second meeting on Jan. 21 to consider more zone changes and a Lakeside area subdivision.

Both meetings begin at 6 a.m. at the Earl Bennett Building, 1035 First Ave. West in Kalispell.

Wednesday's agenda begins with a zone-change request in the Willow Glen Zoning District, where Dale McGarvey wants to change the zoning on 1.36 acres at 1287 U.S. 2 East from one-family limited residential to general business.

A second request comes from the Evergreen Fire District, to change the zoning from one-family limited residential to general business on 1.6 acres located at 2236 U.S. 2 East.

The Jan. 21 meeting begins with a request by Dan Hogan for approval of Cherry Hill Yacht Club, Phase 3, a 14-unit condominium subdivision on 16.8 acres in the Lakeside area. He proposes multiple-user water and public-sewer systems. The property is located at 6675 U.S. 93.

In the Blanchard Lake Zoning District, property owners want a zone change from agricultural to a mix of general business and suburban agriculture on four tracts, including the Daniel Pentelute property at 5020 U.S. 93 S.; Bankfull Boy LLC at 5098 U.S. 93 S.; Happy Valley Storage at 4980 U.S. 93 S. and the Stolte property at 5094 U.S. 93 S.

Flathead Industries has asked for a zone change from suburban residential to community business on property in the Bigfork Zoning District, located at 833 Grand Drive.
