James Hood Wallette, 82

James Hood Wallette, 82, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the lmmanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. James was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Carmangay, Alberta. At age 2, his family moved to Poplar, where he was raised.

He served honorably with the U.S. Army in the Philippines from 1945 to 1947.

On June 18, 1949, he married Inga Larson in Kalispell.

James was a logging and over-the-road truck driver.

He was an active member of the Christian Center Church.

James loved to meet the "guys' over coffee at Syke's and enjoyed snowmobiling with his family and having snow picnics. He also enjoyed scenic drives through the woods.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Wallette; and siblings, Walter, Vivian and Joseph Wallette.

He is survived by his wife, Inga; and children, Karla Colyar and husband, Dan, Kristi Wallette, Rodney Wallette, Randy Wallette and wife, Debbie, and Roland Wallette and wife, Gina; sister, Wilma Jean Sanders; eight grandchildren, Charles Russell, James and Jeff Colyar, Gary, Adam, Tonya and Russ Wallette, and Risa Miller; and four great-grandchildren, Josh Wall, Matthew Russell, Evan Wallette and Ruth Colyar.

Visitation for James will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at the Christian Center-Assembly of God Church. Burial will be afterward at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
