Adams, Danczyk pace 'Dogs in soccer opener

WHITEFISH - Travis Adams scored four goals and assisted on another, and Matt Danczyk had three goals in Whitefish's 9-0 season-opening soccer romp Friday afternoon over Stevensville.

Adams scored twice in the first half, as did Danczyk. The Bulldogs led 6-0 at the break.

"It's really neat for those two seniors," WHS coach O'Brien Bryd said of Adams and Danczyk getting off to such an offensive start.

"It's their turn to step up to the plate like many seniors before them have."

Adams and Dancyzk are the team captains.

Whitefish outshot Stevensville 16-0 on goal and led 6-0 in corner kicks.

Whitefish hosts Billings Central on Friday, 4 p.m.

WHITEFISH - Karissa DeMarco scored two goals and four other players had one each as Whitefish opened the season with a resounding victory.

DeMarco scored in both halves.

Also scoring goals for the Bulldogs were Cherstin Ling, Becca Strellnauer, Sam Dittman and Megan Danczyk.

"I'm really proud of them," first-year coach Erin Morrison said.

"They worked really hard, they deserved that win."

Whitefish had 21 shots on goal to Stevensville's two. Corner kicks favored Whitefish 8-0.
