Robert Frederick Muller, 82

Robert Frederick Muller passed away Aug. 18, 2009, in Sun City, Ariz., at the age of 82. He was born April 14, 1927, in Trenton, N.J.

Robert graduated from Mount Herman School for boys in 1944, then enlisted in the Navy and served as an aeronautical electrician. He attended Wesleyan University and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, honorary scholastic fraternities. Robert went to the University of Rochester School of Medicine where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honorary society.

He married Marion Ruth Morrison on Sept. 27, 1952, and they moved to Ann Arbor, Mich., where he completed his radiology residency at the University of Michigan.

He began his radiology practice in Pocatello, Idaho, and moved to Kalispell in 1958, where he practiced at Kalispell General Hospital until his retirement in 1982, when he relocated to Sun City.

Bob had many interests and hobbies he pursued rigorously. Bob was a hunter, fisherman, pianist, pilot, photographer, gardener, golfer, gunstock maker, and skeet shoot champion. His knowledge and love of all genres of music enriched the lives of his family.

One of his biggest dreams was to build his own airplane. In 1993 he completed his Lancair 320 which he flew from Arizona to the East Coast, north to Canada, across the northern United States to the state of Washington, and home to Arizona.

He was a generous and charitable man, not only in his community but with his children, instilling a lifelong respect for learning. His latest project was training Betsy his beagle to be a therapy dog and they visited nursing homes and rehab centers in Sun City.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion; his daughter, Diane Anfenson, and her children, Kelsey and Molly; son, Rick and Susanne; daughter, Barbara Morrow, and Brad, and their children, Robert and Betsy.
