Mance finishes 6th at State Mid-Am

BILLINGS - Mark Mance of Whitefish closed out action at the 23rd annual Montana State Men's Mid-Am golf tournament on Saturday at Briarwood Country Club with the best round of the day.
Mance shot a 2-under 70 to finish in sixth place. His total for the 54-hole event was 223, which left him nine shots off the pace.
Mance opened with a 79 on Thursday, which put him in 22nd place. He shot a 74 on Friday, which moved him up the leader board and tied him for ninth place overall.
Dave Eames of Billings, 71-71-72-214, captured his first Mid-Am title by a two shot margin over Brandon Davison of Billings, 72-71-73-216.
Jeff Ballard of Billings and Parker Heller of Helena tied for third. Ballard, the first day leader, shot 66-78-74-218, and Heller 73-74-71-218.
The Mid-Am tournament is for golfers 30 years of age and older. This year's field had 110 participants.
