Barbara “Allie” Bishop, 60

Barbara "Allie" Bishop, 60, passed away Sept. 18, 2006, at her home in Columbia Falls.

Barbara was born on April 18, 1946, in Milwaukee, to Marion and Carlyn Hettinger Volgmann. She was raised in Milwaukee, then moved to Walla Walla, Wash., where she graduated from Walla Walla High School.

Barbara worked as a medical transcriptionist at the University of Oregon Medical Center, and was also self-employed.

She married John Bishop in 1989, in Portland. Barbara spent 20 wonderful years with her loving husband John. She was loved by her family and friends. Her sense of humor and love of family made their lives complete. She was "Auntie-Grandma" to her beloved great-nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful wife, sister and aunt. She was loved and will be missed by many.

She loved the Oregon coast, watching movies with her husband, and attending her church: She was an avid reader and truly enjoyed getting together for family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; sister, Pat; and brother-in-law, Jim Duncan.

She is survived by her husband, John Bishop of Columbia Falls; brother, Gene Volgmann; sister, Kathy Duncan; sisters-in-law Glenda, Brenda, Vickie, Sandy and Dot; brothers-in-law, Shelby and Randy; aunt Eugenia Rawson; numerous beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 29, at the North Valley Baptist Church in Columbia Falls.
