Bravettes defeat Hellgate

MISSOULA - Flathead posted more kills, assists and aces than Missoula Hellgate Thursday in opening the Class AA volleyball season with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 victory.

Kelsea Vaudt led the Bravettes with nine kills while Kendalyn Habel followed with eight. The Bravettes finished with 31 in the match to 19 for Hellgate.

Vaudt also led the team in blocks with five.

Habel shared the digs lead with Ashley Robinson. Both finsiehd with 11.

Chelsey Kattraba had five of Flathead's 12 aces.

"We were inconsistent, we were real timid," said Flathead coach Christy Harkins.

Flathead is back on the court Saturday, 2:30 p.m., hosting Butte.
