| October 17, 2006 1:00 AM

Edward James "Ed" Dunfee, 43, passed away of natural causes in his sleep Oct. 11, 2006, in Augusta, Ga.

Ed most recently worked at Fort Discovery Science Museum, where he was known for his good humor and great work ethic. Ed was a sports buff and was particularly passionate about the game of golf. He was able to live his dream of a lifetime by attending the Masters this past April in Georgia.

His faith and family were the most important things in his life. Ed's genuine desire to help others, his tender heart, and his special kindness were an example to many.

Ed found great passion running on the "Riverwalk" listening to music, and marveling at the beautiful sunsets. "His family takes great comfort knowing that he is with the Lord that he knew so well."

Survivors include his parents, Skip and Jeanne Dunfee; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Karen Dunfee, and sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Paul Kusler, all of Kalispell; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and John Lowney, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Paul Dennehy, of Billings; brother, Vince Dunfee, of Las Vegas; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was uncle to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. His loving and playful nature will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Kristen Dunfee-McMahon; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Kelly, and Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Dunfee.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Kristen Dunfee-McMahon Scholarship Foundation at the University of Montana-Western in Dillon, or your local food bank.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
