Kalispell police and the Flathead County Sheriff's Office arrested three young men late Sunday evening at the Motel 6 in Kalispell.

During that incident, a 20-year-old man was ticketed on suspicion of resisting arrest and possessing drug paraphernalia. The man's father called the Sheriff's Office about three hours later to say the Kalispell police assaulted his son, who had a swollen throat. An ambulance was summoned, but the 20-year-old said he did not need treatment.

A Sheriff's Office spokesperson was not available Monday. The Kalispell police said the man was out of control and had to be restrained.

Of the arrested man's two companions, a 21-year-old Kalispell man was arrested on a warrant from another jurisdiction, and another 21-year-old Kalispell man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia.
