Karin Marie Malmquist, 46

Karin Marie Malmquist, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, was born Nov. 29, 1959, in Wilmar, Minn., to Peter and Marilyn Gandrud. She died May 22, 2006, in Whitefish, where she lived with her family.

Karin grew up in Bemidji, Minn., graduated from Bemidji High School, Arizona State University and attended graduate school at the University of North Dakota.

She was a Delta flight attendant for 10 years based in Salt Lake City where she met and married her husband, Casey, in 1988. In 1995, they moved to Whitefish with their two children, Chloe and Jamie.

Karin and Casey owned a construction business and built many beautiful homes in the Park City, Utah, and Whitefish areas. Karin was active with her children's school and sports activities, Christ Lutheran Church, many charitable organizations in the Whitefish area and with her many friends.

She loved animals, the outdoors, cooking, interior decoration and design, reading and traveling. She was known for her tender heart, sunny smile and sense of humor.

Karin will be sadly missed by Casey, Chloe, Jamie; her parents; sister, Mary and John Olson; brother, Mike and Jen Gandrud; nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Christ Lutheran Church.
