A couple of suspected sightings of a woman missing in the Flathead since May 9 haven't led to any solid clues.

Joan Wallace, 73, of McGinnis Meadows in the Libby area, was in Kalispell on May 9 for a doctor's appointment. She reportedly stopped at the Albertsons store where her daughter-in-law works.

She never returned home. Officers and her family can't find any trace of her.

Last week, Flathead County Sheriff Jim Dupont flew over U.S. 2, tracking the path that Wallace likely would have taken home. He searched ditches and roads onto which Wallace could have turned and found nothing.

Further, Wallace's bank card has not been used since she disappeared, Dupont said.

He said she has no mental defects, such as Alzheimer's disease. She does have trouble walking.

Wallace is 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighs 155 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

She was driving a 1986 Nissan four-wheel-drive truck with a cargo net instead of a tailgate, with a handicap license-plate number of 14716.

She had a small brown dog in the vehicle with her.

Dupont said a couple of people have reported a vehicle matching the one Wallace was driving, but nothing has led to her.

Anyone with information should call detective Robby Bowe in Lincoln County at 293-4112.
