evacuated a day care Monday on Granite View Drive when a man in a nearby home reportedly said he had a gun and threatened to kill himself. Deputies had also responded to the home Sunday evening when the man reportedly threw his wife out of the house. He was gone when officers arrived then, but he had returned by 11 a.m. Monday, when he reportedly threatened to harm himself. Officers found him under a bed inside the home and took him into custody without trouble for a mental-health evaluation. A substance thought to be cocaine was seized.

A man on Somers Road said he has no explanation for why another man awoke him Monday morning, punched him, and shot him with a paint gun.

Deputies were called Sunday about a 10-year-old boy in a ditch on Foothills Road. He appeared very dirty and held a sign that said, "Food," according to a caller. He was gone when officers arrived.

Threats were reported on U.S. 2.

Officers investigating a man on Montana 206 as an unregistered sex offender found he allegedly is wanted on warrants from Kalispell police, Glacier County, and Montana Highway Patrol.

A domestic disturbance was reported on Bear Street in Coram, where a woman said her husband punched her in the back and shoved her out the door.

While a woman was out of town, someone crept into her yard at Whitetail Meadows and decapitated her tulips.

Two men fought about a debt near the White Oak Convenience store. They figured out their own solution and decided they didn't need an officer to intervene.

Two or three other men were talking loudly on Montana 40, saying profane things and keeping a woman in a nearby house awake.

Five horses on Montana 206 stopped traffic. Two horses were reported in the road on U.S. 93. A cow elk fared the worst, though, when it was hit by a sheriff's patrol car in the North Valley. The food bank was the beneficiary.

A man who reportedly caused a disturbance at a home on North Cedar Drive by throwing a radio and punching a wall was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. He escaped from there and was caught after a chase by Kalispell police. He was returned to the hospital.

A man was arrested for theft after a shed was found open on U.S. 2.

A woman said a man in a car waved a gun at her, possibly because she was driving too slowly.

Spray paint was reported on the building and windows of Coldwell Banker in Bigfork.

A tepee was damaged near Columbia Falls.

Help was needed for a woman who passed out at Los Caporales in Evergreen.

A woman said her 17-year-old son was trying to put her in a headlock.
