took reports of tires slashed on Railroad Street and at the high school Friday and at Super 1 Foods and on Spokane Avenue Thursday.

A possible prowler was reported on Park Avenue; a theft from a vehicle was reported in the neighborhood hours later. On West Third Street, a man with an ax appeared in a back yard Wednesday night. He moved on without trouble.

At 3 a.m., a man knocked on a door on Dakota Avenue and asked for a cigarette. A woman provided the stranger with one and shut her door.
