mowing marauder

A man rode an orange lawn mower up to a house on Columbia Mountain Road, where he dismounted and lay down on the lawn. He asked a resident there to look into his eyes to see whether he is crazy. That behavior, combined with the pistol carried by the mowing marauder, prompted a call to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy released one girl to her mother and took another one home after they were found dropping rocks off the overpass on East Oregon Street.

An unwelcome son made an appearance Sunday on Parkside Drive; an officer gave him a ride to a motel. A man caused a disturbance at a woman's home on Ridgewood Drive. On Talbot Road, a man awoke to find an intruder dressed all in black, in the home. Nothing was taken. A woman called to say she was trying to clean house and her husband was giving her grief; a deputy counseled the couple. More domestic strife was reported on Cynthia Drive and on Jensen Road.

A harassing man was reported at the Southfork Saloon.

A woman turned herself in on warrants from Kalispell police for charges of accountability to arson and filing a false report. She's accused of reporting her vehicle stolen from Liberty Street on May 9. It later was found burning on Ashley Lake Road and officials allege she set it on fire for the insurance money.

A caller on Labrant Road sought help for a doe that was struggling to give birth Sunday evening; no animal wardens were available, so Mother Nature stepped in as a midwife.

Dogs howling like coyotes and wolves were reported on Blacktail Road.

A woman was arrested after reportedly driving into a fence on Spring Creek Drive.

Loose horses were on West Reserve Drive and on Blanchard Lake Road. Two Ford Mustangs collided Sunday night outside a West Glacier bar. One galloped off to Coram before a deputy arrived.

An animal warden was needed when dogs ran two raccoons up a power pole on Egan Road.

About 150 gallons of fuel was taken from a truck near Columbia Falls.

A transient set up camp on someone's property on Montana 83 and then decorated with trash from public trash containers. A deputy told the man to break camp and move on.

Those lug nuts didn't loosen themselves on a vehicle on Tamarack Lane.
