Officers cite 54 youths in booze busts

Law officers cited at least 54 youths for underage drinking and arrested two youths on suspicion of drunken driving from Friday to Sunday.

That is in addition to at least 35 youths cited for possessing alcohol during the previous weekend.

The Flathead County Alcohol Enforcement Team issued 34 of this past weekend's citations. Other police agencies issued the remaining 20 obligations and made the two drunken driving arrests.

Here is a rundown of the Alcohol Enforcement Team's arrests and citations last weekend:

-The team cited four youths Friday evening for possessing alcohol at Raceway Park. Two of them were cited for possessing false identifications, and one was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

During the previous weekend, the team cited five youths for possessing alcohol at Raceway Park, plus arrested another for possessing drugs.

. At 1 a.m. Saturday, Kalispell police and the team cited nine youths for possessing alcohol early Saturday morning in a house on Northern Lights Boulevard after receiving a noise complaint.

-A little later, the team chased six youths running away from Lions Park into some woods, and caught them. The six were cited for possessing alcohol, with one also being cited for possessing drug paraphernalia.

. On Saturday evening, the team cited six more youths for possessing alcohol at Raceway Park. Also, the team ticketed a girl who was cited for possessing alcohol the previous night at Raceway Park, and returned Saturday evening with alcohol. Two boys also were arrested for returning to the park after being removed for disorderly conduct.

-At 2 a.m. Sunday, the team cited seven youths for possessing and drinking alcohol around a bonfire on Three Mile Drive. An adult at the scene was cited for conducting an unlawful transaction with a minor.
