A Kalispell boy died from injuries in a vehicle accident Thursday west of town.

Flathead County Sheriff's Office deputy coroner Brad Stahlberg identified the boy Friday as Colton Larson, 16. He died from head injuries, Stahlberg said.

Preliminary information from Montana Highway Patrol said Larson was ejected from his 1990s Mazda when he rolled the vehicle on Farm to Market Road.

Larson reportedly ran a stop sign. He had turned onto Farm to Market Road and was headed south when his vehicle reportedly drifted to the right, he overcorrected, and lost control. The vehicle reportedly traveled 40 feet from the highway and struck a barbed-wire fence.

There was a witness, according to trooper Roy Christensen of the Montana Highway Patrol.

Larson was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
